What is chiropractic?
Many people believe that chiropractic care is strictly for management of back or neck pain, but chiropractic actually addresses a wide spectrum of functional and general health issues. As the video above brilliantly illustrates, the basic premise of chiropractic care involves keeping the spine properly aligned in order to reduce or eliminate the nerve interference caused by spinal misalignments (known as subluxations). While pain is often what gets a person's attention, it's far from the only consequence of a spinal subluxation.
Because your spinal cord is critical to the operation of every single system of the body, any time a subluxation puts pressure on the nerves branching off the spinal cord, there can be symptoms that result in impairment of the body's functions. This impairment could manifest in multiple ways across multiple body systems. Usually pain is the LAST symptom to appear following a subluxation, not the first. That's why it's so important to seek chiropractic care as early as possible, to complete your care plan as recommended, and to maintain a regular schedule of chiropractic adjustments for optimal function.
